This book has been on my shelf since my accident in 2001. Someone brought it to the hospital and left it for me. Since that time I read from it several times a year. The poetry covers it all, life, death, love, loss, faith, hope, joy and sorrow.
For those who don't know the story, Mattie suffered from a rare form of muscular dystrophy and passed away June 22, 2004. Prior to his death he appeared on many morning and talk shows and was featured in many newspapers and other publications. This book was a New York Times Bestseller and even includes a forward by former president Jimmy Carter. This young man wrote with such insight, well beyond his age. This book and all the others he has written will stand the test of time and be on must read lists forever.Facing the Future
