FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!

Welcome to Feel Good Friday!

Erika had found that a lot of her bloggy friends reading posts about being positive, so she thought she might try her very own meme.  She just wanted everyone to feel good and have some happy thoughts as you begin the weekend.

It is never too late to join!!!
I have posted the prompts here to give you some idea of what this meme is about:
Pick one of these prompts and write about it on your blog!  You can:
  • Just make a list. List 5 things that made you really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things.
  • Write about something that happened to you this week that really made you smile.  Was it your child, husband, or maybe a complete stranger did to you?
  • Write about something that YOU did for someone else that really made them happy or laugh.
  • Is there something you treasure so much that every single time you look at it, it brings you happiness?  Post a pic and tell everyone about it.
  • Having a hard week and can’t find one good thing about it?  Well then, what is your happy place?  What do you think of that makes you happy? A past vacation?  A childhood memory?  We want to know!
Then head over to
and link your blog so everyone can visit and see all about what made you

Feel Good!!!

Here's what made me feel good this week!

This has not really been a feel good week, but hopefully by the time I am done typing I will find the feel good part.

First of all I have been fighting with a nasty cold since last weekend and at times I have really felt like the cold was winning.  Between the cough and my head full of snot I have not been able to concentrate to do much reading or blogging.  Thankfully I had a few posts put together so I just had to schedule them.  Today my voice is returning both in real life and here on my blog, so I guess I can FEEL GOOD about that.

Now for the really rotten part of the week:

Wednesday at about 5:15 p.m., my youngest son Jayme calls, which he does quite often on his way home after working out to see if we need anything from the store or if I want a shake from McDonalds, but the call was different;

ME:  hello

JAYME: mom....I was just rear ended by someone...what do I do?

ME: Where are you?

JAYME: By Pick-N-Save

ME: Call 911 and I'll call Kris (his older brother) to come to you.

JAYME: I already hear sirens.

Most mom's answers would be I'll be right there, but not me, I can't drive or move quickly because of, well you know.

I call Kris, his cell phone has crappy reception but he heard Jayme, accident, Pick-N-Save, and hung up.

I call hubby Jeff, he is still about 30 minutes away coming home from work.  Told him I'd keep him posted.

Wait, Wait, Wait, I am not good at this part.

What seems like an eternity later Kris calls, Jayme is all right, his back, neck and chest hurt, but he is out of the car walking. "Mom the car is totaled, gotta go, paramedic wants me, call you back."

Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait,

Amber, my daughter-in-law calls, "We are taking Jayme to the hospital to get checked out."  This is also when I learn that Jeff's sister and her husband, Uncle Brian and Aunt Vicki were at the scene too, they had been driving by and saw the accident and that it was Jayme, stopped and ran to help.

Jeff goes directly to the hospital, where I learn the rest of the story.  Jayme was about 7th in a line of cars stopped at a stoplight, (one of two) in the small town about 3 miles from our house.  It is on a highway two lanes running in each direction that is well traveled but as you get closer to town, the speed limit drops in increments from 55 to 45 to 35 to the stoplight and then to 25 miles per hour.  Jayme had his foot on the brake as the light had just turned green, but none of the vehicles in front of him had started moving yet, when a car crashed into him from behind but not straight on, a little more to the drivers side, pushing him into  the van in front of him, then sent him spinning and she hit him again on the driver's side of the car so hard she knocked him completely off the road into a grassy area off the highway.  We are still awaiting the police report to see how fast she was going, there were no skid marks so she had made no effort  to stop.

This could have had a terrible outcome. The driver that hit him was 6 months pregnant and stayed overnight at the hospital and was released.  I sneezed and hit a metal embankment and look how I turned out, just yesterday 3 people were killed nearby when a drunk driver hit them as they were changing a tire.  My oldest daughter had 3 horrific accidents within a years time and virtually walked away with minor injuries, all three times.  That is part of the reason my younger daughter still has not gotten her driver's license.  She tried again yesterday, but we should have rescheduled after what happened the night before, so her not passing yesterday was our fault.

Jayme is safe, very sore, especially from where the seat belt caught him across the chest so that is something to FEEL GOOD about.  But you have to see his car to truly understand that it is a miracle he is o.k.  He definitely had a guardian angel riding with him.  It also makes me FEEL GOOD that while I couldn't run to be with my son, several others did.  I posted about the accident on Facebook while I was waiting and several people responded with prayers.  When I was freaking out the most feeling useless, a phone call from my sister calmed me down and helped me through the waiting.  The best FEEL GOOD moment was when my 6'5" son walked through our front door and we hugged each other tight.  Thank you Lord for keeping my Jayme safe.

JAYME:  Mom, who knew Kris could run that fast!!

What made YOU feel good this week?!

That is the worst rear end that I have ever seen. Very glad that Jayme is OK.

Oh my Lord! What a nightmare. Thank heavens it all turned out alright. I do not blame your daughter for a second about not getting her license. I would be nervous too!

Hope your weekend is safe and sound.
