"All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality -- the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape."

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!

Welcome to Feel Good Friday!

Erika had found that a lot of her bloggy friends reading posts about being positive, so she thought she might try her very own meme.  She just wanted everyone to feel good and have some happy thoughts as you begin the weekend.

It is never too late to join!!!
I have posted the prompts here to give you some idea of what this meme is about:
Pick one of these prompts and write about it on your blog!  You can:
  • Just make a list. List 5 things that made you really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things.
  • Write about something that happened to you this week that really made you smile.  Was it your child, husband, or maybe a complete stranger did to you?
  • Write about something that YOU did for someone else that really made them happy or laugh.
  • Is there something you treasure so much that every single time you look at it, it brings you happiness?  Post a pic and tell everyone about it.
  • Having a hard week and can’t find one good thing about it?  Well then, what is your happy place?  What do you think of that makes you happy? A past vacation?  A childhood memory?  We want to know!
Then head over to
and link your blog so everyone can visit and see all about what made you

Feel Good!!!

Here's what made me feel good this week!

At first I thought this was going to me an easy feel good Friday, Jayme's on the honor roll again, Betsy is loving college, Kaden is always up to something, Katy is taking me out today to get my haircut, my cold is almost gone.  Then I found out a very dear man passed away, it was not sudden, but is still hurt .Then yesterday I had a total meltdown when I found out the woman that hit Jayme last week might not have insurance and we had only liability coverage on the car, no uninsured motorist coverage.  How do you tell your son that everything he worked so hard for couldn't be replaced because we messed up on the insurance coverage?  My friends on Facebook were wonderful and helped me through it, but it still does not FEEL GOOD, although I am so thankful they were there.  If you want the gory details just check out my facebook page.  We are still holding on to hope for a happy ending.

So I have decided to write about something that truly did make me FEEL GOOD this past week, that previously I didn't think even deserved a post.  The past couple of weeks I have working on redesigning my blog.  While most of the elements remained unchanged, the biggest change is the background.  As you can see it is a beautiful tranquil beach in North Carolina.  Our family's best vacation ever was several years ago when we spent a week right on the ocean at Caswell Beach, North Carolina.  We have always wanted to go back but it has never been in the cards, but now every time I open my blog it is like a mini vacation back to a place I loved.  Since my tag line is "Escape With A Good Book!" this is a place I could "Escape" to quite easily.

So pack up your flip flops, a little sunscreen, make yourself a nice cool beverage, and grab a good book and "escape" with me to the beach.

What made YOU feel good this week?!

I like your redesign Lori and goodness hope it works out where the other motorist can come through! It is always the little fine print that we do not catch that causes the most trauma when things like this occur, am thinking good thoughts that it will work out for Jayme!

The blog is beautiful. I love that the blue font is easy on the eyes for reading.

Best luck with the car.

I love the look of your blog! There is something so breathtaking about the Carolina coast. We vacationed a lot in north Myrtle Beach. Lots of great memories there!

Glad you have a little piece of your vacation with you every day!

Have a great weekend!

When I was 16 my parents only had liability on me too and a guy slammed into me. He did not have INS either but he just wrote me a check so maybe she will do the same I hope.

On a humorous note, he hit me and then sped off and I went after him honking away! I called the cops to report the accident and he got a ticket for mouthing off to them! I had been driving 3 months. There was a school bus behind me that saw me get hit and me chase him so when I got to school everyone thought I was so cool! It was so scary and funny at the same time.
