"All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality -- the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape."

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!

Welcome to
Feel Good Friday!!!

Erika had found that a lot of her bloggy friends reading posts about being positive, so she thought she might try her very own meme. She just wanted everyone to feel good and have some happy thoughts as you begin the weekend.  Go over to her blog for the details.

"The Girl" is busy constructing a new website so for the time being this feature is being hosted by lia sophia tomgirl.  She has a great blog, be sure to check it out!

What made me FEEL GOOthis week?
This was an interesting week. On Monday daughter Katy and niece Allie took grandson Kaden to the Milwaukee Public Museum. They took tons of pictures and I felt like I was there.  Looking at most of the pictures the place hasn't changed much since we took all the kids there when they were younger.

He looks like he had a pretty good time!

Then on Tuesday my kids were taking part in a kickball game. As I have told you before the local grocery store is like Caswell's grocery store.  All my kids have worked there as well as some of my nieces and nephews. Katy is the only one of my kids no longer working there so she was my photographer. My daughter-in-law now works for the same chain but in a neighboring town.  Her store and our local store competed against each other and while the local store started out strong, Amber's store ended up winning.  It was so much fun to watch!

My kids. Kris, Jayme, Betsy and niece Heidi
and Amber on that
darn opposing team!
Congrats to her store.

Kaden and Brooklynn also had fun at the game!
Then last night the Green Bay Packers took on the New Orleans Saints in the first game of the season and they started off strong but there was still the heart attack ending where the game was almost tied in the last seconds.  I don't know why they have to do that to us every week!!!

What made you Feel Good this week?
I hope you will take a moment to share!

Lori today am happy to be alive, my husband my mother and my 3 house pets lost our home in the Texas wildfires in Bastrop County. We lost everything we worked for for 30 years of marriage, almost all our clothes and all of our family mementos, photos, videos from years past when my Dad and Father-in-law were still alive and so many things that were near and dear as they were gifts from one another. My prayers and sympathy is going out for all those affected just like us, we are now homeless living in motel rooms with the pets.

But we are all alive and uninjured so God blessed us with that and we are thankful.

Insurance will take care of all the housing and a new home but the little things we cannot replace are family related including wedding photos as photographer out of business and negatives no longer exist.

Wow, I was going to talk about my excitement about the Green Bay game last night and the (first) review I received on my novel today, but I just read Jackie B's comment and I'm humbled.

Jackie B—I truly hope everything works out for you and your family. My heart and best wishes go out to you.

Lori, the photo you posted from the Milwaukee Public Museum looks like something I saw there as a kid in the 50s. Could it really be the same pic?

Rochelle congrats on your first review, life is full of good things and you learn to enjoy them with the bad.

Lori you had a good week, sorry to be a downer and forget to say how cute all the kids are and love their participation.

I had a happy Thursday. It was wonderful. I blogged about it too just because I felt I had to tell someone how great of a day I had.

The photos are lovely. I really like the one where the youngest looks like she is just learning to walk. It's adorable.

And I really enjoyed the game last night. I'm a Cowboys fan so my football day will be this Sunday. I'm excited.
