"All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality -- the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape."

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!

Welcome to Feel Good Friday!

Laura had found that a lot of her bloggy friends reading posts about being positive, so she thought she might try her very own meme.  She just want everyone to feel good and have some happy thoughts as you begin the weekend.

I thought it sounded like fun and
it is never too late to join!!!

I have posted the prompts here and the steps to follow to give you some idea of what this meme is about:
Step 1:
Pick one of these prompts and write about it on your blog!  You can:
  • Just make a list. List 5 things that made you really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things.
  • Write about something that happened to you this week that really made you smile.  Was it your child, husband, or maybe a complete stranger did to you?
  • Write about something that YOU did for someone else that really made them happy or laugh.
  • Is there something you treasure so much that every single time you look at it, it brings you happiness?  Post a pic and tell everyone about it.
  • Having a hard week and can’t find one good thing about it?  Well then, what is your happy place?  What do you think of that makes you happy? A past vacation?  A childhood memory?  We want to know!

Step 2:

Come back to Ericka's blog, the little girl next door grows up on Friday and link up with Mister Linky’s Magical Widgets.  Then go and read at least one other blog and leave them a comment to make their day brighter.

Step 3:

Have fun.  Feel good.  Smile.
Then, start looking for all of the good things you can write about for next week!  Once you start looking for the “good”  you will find it everywhere.

WHAT MADE ME SMILE THIS WEEK!!
Last week we were on vacation and the highlight of the week was our trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo.  All eight of us went, our kids, Kris and his wife Amber, Katy and her son, my much talked about grandson, Kaden,  daughter Elizabeth (Betsy or Liz or Lizzie, depending who she is with, she will always be my Betsy), son Jayme, Jeff and myself.  This was our first trip together in almost a year.  The last time was for Kris and Amber's wedding, on August 4th last year.
Hubby and me driving our carts.  Jeff broke his pinkie toe the day before at the doctor's office no less, when the door opened onto his foot.  It was black and blue and very swollen, so walking was definitely not  an option for him.
It was really hot and some of the animals weren't handling the heat well.  This zebra is just one example.
Kris and Kaden rode a camel.

Kaden's favorite animal, we even brought home a stuffed one, which has been named Circus.  That's where Kaden first saw an elephant but maybe this one should have been named Zoo.
It was the mama lion's 7th birthday.  The zoo was even serving birthday cake.
The goats loved Kaden and he loved the goats. He wanted to bring this one home.
This bear looked like he only needed a big jar of honey to complete the picture.
Special dinosaur exhibit was quite a hit with the kids.  This is Jayme getting up close and personal.
The biggest hit of the day was the brown bears.   We arrived just in time to catch them "playing".

We had a blast.  As you can tell from the pictures above the girls were manning the cameras and failed to take any pictures of themselves.  Maybe we can fix that problem next time.
One more thing last week really made me smile and a quite a few others laugh.  Kaden hates thunderstorms but last week we were at a graduation party for our niece Allie (above) and what started out as a bright sunny day turned into a very nice downpour.  While everyone took cover in the garage, except for a couple of Kaden's great uncles, this is what Kaden was doing.

My mother-in-law has the cutest video, but for some reason all I can save to my computer is the still shots, but take my word for it all he needed was a little soap and we could have skipped his nightly bath.
I hope you all had a wonderful week and look forward to reading about what made you smile.
