"All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality -- the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape."

Our Day At The Bradley Center

If you read my post yesterday you read that Dollycas was going on a field trip.  I did! We had a blast!! So today's post is all about my wonderful field trip!!!

First of all some facts about Fall River, Wisconsin.  It is a village of about 1500 people about 25 minutes from the state capitol of Madison. The total school population 4K -12 is about 235 students. Our community is very involved with the school and several large businesses call Fall River home.  I tell you all this so you can realize what an honor it is to have our high school participate every other year in a program organized by the Bradley Center and The Milwaukee Bucks that allows our Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams play on a court and at an arena where pro basketball players play. We played against teams from another small town, Fennimore, Wisconsin, population about 2500.  They have about 325 students just in the Middle/High School.

First of all we did not ride the bus.  The ones that did rode in comfort, but we felt it was just too hard with my wheelchair and all, and in case we needed to stop.  The picture below is similar to the bus they rode.

The Girl's team played at 1:15 and unfortunately lost 44-23.  But I am sure they enjoyed the experience.  We arrived to late to get a team picture :(

The Boy's team played at 3:15.  Our son Jayme is  #45 on the Boys team and it was exciting to see him start, tip the ball to start the game, score 6 points, get in foul trouble :(, and hear his name over that huge speaker system.  (I wish we could have taped it, it would be an awesome ringtone for his cell phone.)

This place is huge.   The boys looked so small from the 2nd floor where we were sitting.

Parents, Students, Fans

We led the first quarter running away, but Fennimore fought back.  Went into overtime!!  PIRATES WIN!!

After the game the boys went to the mall to eat.  Jeff, Betsy and I went across the street to

They say the have the longest bar east of the Mississippi and it is huge.  The food was delicious, wonderful atmosphere and our server Pauline was terrific.  If you are ever in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this is definitely a place to eat.  We definitely give it 5 stars!!!!!  Be sure to check out the website.  The building has a unique history and lots of pictures.

After dinner we went back to the Bradley Center for the Bucks game.  Sadly they lost.  I could say the learning experience for our basketball players was how NOT to play.  I guess I feel if you are paid that much money to play you should be able to sink your free throws and follow your shot and make the easy lay-ups.  Just my opinion.

There were some highlights though like the Girl's coach winning a dance contest, we were laughing too hard to get pictures.  I hope someone did, it was hilarious!!

Then at the start of the fourth quarter they announced there were special guests in the audience.

PACKER QUARTERBACK AARON RODGERS

PACKER RUNNING BACK RYAN GRANT (out this season due to injury)

The cheers were the loudest I heard all night and one lucky fan got to take home an autographed football.
Justin Tuck Lineman for the New York Giants was also there .

The Giants were stranded in Wisconsin due to the snow on the East Coast.  Lots of booing, but he took it in stride.  The Packers crushed and dominated the Giants Sunday 45-17.

It truly was a great day, and a lot of fun.  Jayme is our last child we will see play at the Bradley Center.  Daughter Katy played there both her Freshman and Junior years.

I am so thrilled that our little school has this wonderful opportunity and I hope it can continue for many more years and that Jeff and I will still make the trip.  We have become quite addicted to high school basketball and will probably still be attending games after Jayme graduates.
