Erika had found that a lot of her bloggy friends reading posts about being positive, so she thought she might try her very own meme. She just wanted everyone to feel good and have some happy thoughts as you begin the weekend.  Go over to her blog for the details.

What made me Feel Good this week.

Going with a list this week.

1.  My daughter-in-law is doing much better this week and we received confirmation yesterday that the cyst was non-cancerous.  Thank you for all your prayers.

2. I attended my last basketball parent's night last night.  The game was plain awesome beating the other team 76-34.  My son played a great defensive game, he was like Superman on the floor.  The whole team played a great game.  Just one more home game as a parent in the regular season but have informed  my husband we will be there as fans next year. I love watching these boys play!!

3. I won two blog awards last week.  The first was:

 From Freda's Voice.  It requires I list 4 Guilty Pleasures.

1. LOVE watching High School Basketball.
2. I watch Days of Our Lives everyday.
3. I spend way to much time on Facebook.
4. I must watch any show with the Kardashians on it.

4. The second was:

From:  Ellie at Books, Fitness and Other Stuff.  It was her first blog award!!

As a condition of my acceptance of this adorable award, I have to share five things about myself.

In those five things, four must be partially fictitious, or enhanced realities (read - kinda true, but kinda not), and then one full factoid. Feel free to make guesses about which one is the completely true one, I'll post the answers next Friday in my post!

1. My children are all named after famous people.

2. I won a Beauty Pageant.

3. I am an only child.

4.I used to walk 2-3 miles everyday and lost almost 80 pounds in one year.

5.I married my swim coach.

Both of these awards ask me to pass them on.  I follow so many wonderful blogs it is too hard to choose just a few so I pass these awards on the every one of you bloggers reading this post.  You are all INCREDIBLY SWEET and I have "met" almost every one of you because of a MEME.

5. I keep my politics off my blog, but post pretty freely on Facebook.  I just want to take a moment here to say Wisconsin has made the national news this week and it is not because the Packers won the Super Bowl.  I want to thank all the public employees of Wisconsin, of which my daughter is one, for standing up and rallying peacefully to preserve their rights this week and for as long as it takes for their voices to be heard.

On September 15, Carol at Dizzy C's Little Book Blog  awarded me the "One Lovely Blog Award".  I had received this blog before right after I started blogging, but it nice to receive it again as new readers find my blog.  Thank you Carol for the wonderful award.

6. I almost died in 2001 and don't remember the first 3 weeks after I woke up, but can remember the doctor's talking in the emergency room, wondering if they should suture the lacerations to the top of my head because they didn't expect me to last the night.  Boy I fooled them.

7. I love writing my blog. I have "met" some of the best people here in cyberspace and am thankful for every moment I get to share my thoughts with you.

Well I told you 10 things about myself twice before and needed to come up with some original things and I wanted to find 10 blogs that I maybe wouldn't follow but were beautiful blogs that look like a lot of

Now the 10 new things about me:

1. I am my parents 3rd child but was raised as a spoiled only child.  My sister is 12 years older than me and my brother is 10 years older than me.  They tried to convince me I was adopted, but my mother's famous line of retort always was "If she was adopted, I would have sent her back years ago."  I was a very naughty child/adolescent/teenager.
2. I was on the gymnastic team in high school, not balance beam or floor exercise, I was a vaulter.
3. I have worn glasses since I was 4 years old, tried contacts for awhile, but want to be able to see when I wake up in the morning and glasses are right there, contacts actually take some effort.
4. My best friend as a child was Suzy and she had an actual merry go round at her house, not the kind with the horses, but the kind at the playgrounds only much bigger.
5. In high school, I worked at the local A&W and was a carhop, no roller skates though, clumsy enough without adding wheels.
6. I gave birth to 4 children, all good sized, 9lbs. 10 oz., 8 lbs, 7 lbs 11 oz., 7 lbs 14 oz. with actual natural child birth, no drugs of any kind, but their father could of had all he wanted.  (You need to be a fan of Bill Cosby's "Himself".  I laugh so hard at that HBO special every time it airs)
7. I am a perfectionist, and will drive myself crazy to get something just right.  My family knows when to steer clear of me when I working on something.
8. I am a very difficult person to live with, always have been but since my accident it is much worse.  I hate being dependent on anybody for anything. It is very hard for me to ask for help.
9. I always want to make people laugh.  I truly believe it is the best medicine.
10. I miss my mom and dad everyday, but I can still hear them in my head, no I don't hear actual voices, but others who have lost your parents will understand.

The Beautiful Blogger Award

In order to receive this I have to tell you seven things about myself and since for the Sugar Doll Award I received earlier had me reveal 10 things about me, I've tried to come up with some new ones.

1. My new favorite book is CAUGHT by Harlan Coben.  (You probably knew that from my review.)
2. I have 2 Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix dogs who are sisters.  One looks like a border collie (Oreo) and one looks like a blue heeler (Nera).  We also have 3 cats, Oscar, Wiley, and Jack.  Wiley is my favorite.
3. I love NASCAR, and my favorite driver is Matt Kenseth.
4. I watch Days of our Lives everyday.
5. Watching Biggest Loser always makes me cry.
6. My grandson is growing way too fast.
7. I really miss driving, I hate to be dependent on others and sometimes I would just like to go for a ride all by myself.

My First Blog Award

I am so thrilled to have received this award from Beth at The Crazy Life of A Bookoholic Mom. Thanks Beth!!!  I started this blog to share all the books I love to read, give my opinions about worldly things and basically keep myself busy.  It has been so much fun, and I am so glad other people like it. (Most of my family doesn't get it :)  Yesterday I received my first cozy advanced copy and this award, it feels like Christmas.

 

Now I am supposed to tell you 10 things about ME.

1. My family is the most important thing to me.

2. I used to work on a construction crew building houses and pouring concrete.

3. My favorite band of all time is STYX.

4. I love old Christmas movies, (Holiday Inn, The Bells of St. Mary's, The Bishop's Wife, etc)

5.  I used to sew most of my family's clothes and loved to quilt.

6.  My parents used to own a tavern and we lived above it. I went to sleep every night as a teenager listening to the music of the juke box coming up through the floor.

7.  I get claustrophobic in many small places.

8. I am addicted to PACKRAT on FACEBOOK.

9. I am hooked on high school basketball.

10. I survived a horrific accident, was hospitalized for 75 days, and it's a true miracle that I am alive, with only my right side partially paralyzed.

10A. My real name is Lori, but my husband as always called me Dolly and Cas comes from our last name.
