Welcome to the Saturday Spotlight, where each week we will have a chance to showcase something new. It will be the place to gather, talk and shine the “spotlight” on all things book related. Not to mention a place to discover new to us authors, characters, series and places.
Each week she will pick a new theme for us to share our favorite of, and every once in a while she’ll make it a “readers choice” week where you can spotlight whatever you want.
Some of the different things we’ll be spotlighting are our favorite book, author, female/male character, location, murder weapon, series, other book blogs, giveaway sites, places to get our books and just about anything else book related.

This week the spotlight is shining on ......
FAVORITE MALE MYSTERY AUTHOR
My Favorite Mystery Author is
Harlan Coben
Back in February I reviewed his book CAUGHT and proclaimed it would be the best book I read in 2010. It is May and that is still true.
I have loved every book he has written back to DEAL BREAKER, his first novel in the Myron Bolitar series to the latest LONG LOST.
His stand alones
TELL NO ONE, GONE FOR GOOD,
NO SECOND CHANCE,JUST ONE LOOK,
THE INNOCENT,PROMISE ME,
THE WOODS, HOLD TIGHT
& CAUGHT.
NO SECOND CHANCE,JUST ONE LOOK,
THE INNOCENT,PROMISE ME,
THE WOODS, HOLD TIGHT
& CAUGHT.
He has yet to write a book I did not love and want to share.
It is funny I first picked up his books it was because I thought my husband would enjoy them, he read DEAL BREAKER and told me, "You have to read this!" and I have been hooked ever since. His books keep those pages turning, you can't put them down until you have read the final line.
Excerpt from his bio:
Coben was the first writer in more than a decade to be invited to write fiction for the NEW YORK TIMES op-ed page. His Father’s Day short story, THE KEY TO MY FATHER, appeared June 15, 2003.
Since his critically-acclaimed Myron Bolitar series debuted in 1995, Harlan Coben has won the Mystery Writers of America’s Edgar Allan Poe Award and was nominated for the Edgar two other times. Harlan also won the Anthony Award at the World Mystery Conference, was nominated for another Anthony Award, won the Shamus Award by the Private Eye Writers of America, was nominated for another Shamus, and was twice nominated for the Dilys Award by the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association.
In the United Kingdom, his novel ONE FALSE MOVE earned him the prestigious “Fresh Talent Award”, given annually by Great Britain's largest bookstore chain, W. H. Smith, and GONE FOR GOOD won the W. H. SMITH “Thumping Good Read” Award. In France, TELL NO ONE (NE LE DIS A PERSONE) won Le Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle for fiction. His novels have been PEOPLE magazine Page-Turners of the Week and a Publishers Weekly Best of the Year pick.
Harlan was born in Newark, New Jersey. After graduating from Amherst College a political science major, Harlan worked in the travel industry. He now lives in New Jersey with his wife, Anne Armstrong-Coben MD, a pediatrician, and their four children.

I've read a few of his works, but definitely not as many as you have :) I may have to look him up again!! I recall it was great thrilling writing.
I am listening to The Woods now by him but it hasn't captivated me yet. Hopefully soon as I have 10 discs to go! Great post!
I've only read Deal Breaker, but I have a cople others with the TBR books (the 2nd Myron Bolitar book and Hold Tight). I've heard fantastic things about his work, and enjoyed the one I did read so... looking forward to more. =)
I just found your website from Lori's Reading Corner and when I saw Harlan Coben's name I had to click on the link and see whose blog this belong to.
My favorite mystery author is also Harlan Coben. I'm a huge fan of his and I absolutely LOVE his books. I've read all of his stand alone (minus Caught) and I recently started reading his Myron Bolitar series. So far I've only read the first two. I'm trying to read the books in order and I haven't gotten the rest of the books yet.
Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar series is one of my most enjoyable to read. I like all the books so far and to date have read almost every one. My favorite Male Mystery Author though of all time so far would have to be James Patterson because he does mystery thrillers like no one else for many years now.
Lori you have won a book at my blog and sent you an email yesterday please get in touch with me with your mailing address to send it to you...
