Movers and Shakers
Thursdays
This "MeMe" comes from Lynda at Between The Pages
and it looked like fun so I thought we would try it out here.
Let me know what you think.
The Movers and Shakers MeMe is a post that will explore the explosive and impelling force of just 25* words or less. Words that impel me to continue turning pages. They might be an unexpected plot twist, startling revelation, special bit of humor, or frigid warning of things to come. Sometimes they may be words that shove me on an emotional roller coaster. Whatever their purpose, the author has succeeded in pulling me further into his/her story. In my selection, I'll be careful not to use 'spoilers'.
*I have changed the number of words to 25 or less, because I kept going over, and didn't want to miss sharing such powerful statements that kept me turning page after page.
Here are my Movers and Shakers for this week.
1. "Sometimes we attach our entire lives to a moment we were
hurt and allow it to define and consume our very existence."
From: The Heart Mender by Andy Andrews
This line was powerful for me because I am having trouble
moving forward from a time when someone hurt me.
2. "She had never dreamed that her caller was
capable of physical violence.
Yet there he stood...looking down at her with satisfaction"
From: The Missing Element by John L. Betcher
