ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW - NEW MEME

It struck me recently how much time I spend
on this computer every day,
blogging, chatting or playing games on Facebook,
emailing friends and relatives,
making cards and calendars, etc. etc. etc.

We depend on each other for book reviews,
giveaways, encouragement, friendship,
but how well do we really know each other?

This week school started for my kids and I realized what that means. Think back, if you are old like me, think way back, what happens at the start of a school year.
You renew friendships and make new ones.

You get to know each other.

So that is what this meme is all about,
getting to know each other.

Each Thursday I will post 3 questions for you to answer that you can copy and post on your blog with your answers.

You don’t have to be a blogger to participate either.

I will be using a Linky List for the blogs to use to participate and follow each other around to get to know each other,
but if you are not a blogger just answer the questions in the comment section following the post on your favorite blog.

This way we not only get to know other bloggers,
we get to know our followers too.

Are you interested?

Here are the first three questions:

1. How many hours per day do you spend at your computer?

2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Wendy Lyn Watson, author of Scoop to Kill, is going to be here next week and I’m going to do my best to tally everyone’s answer to this question to include in the Welcome part of her post next week.

3. Do you own an E-Reader, Kindle, Nook, etc? If yes, which one and how do you like it. Please give us the Pros and Cons.

There that should be pretty painless and easy. Now be sure to copy and paste the information and your answers into your blog, then come back to link up, so we can come to your blog and read your answers.

I hope you will come back to this meme every week and tell your friends so we can all get to know each other better and get the answers to all the questions
Enquiring Minds Want To Know!!

My answers:

1. How many hours per day do you spend at your computer?
I would say anywhere between 5 -7 hours.

2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, at least right now,
the Concrete Mixers from Culver's in a variety of flavors are also a yummy treat, of course those are Custard and not Ice Cream.  :)

3. Do you own an E-Reader, Kindle, Nook, etc? If yes, which one and how do you like it. Please give us the Pros and Cons.

No, I have not broken down yet to purchase an E-Reader of any sort.  I love the feel of the book in my hands, the smell of a new book and the ease of marking the page, setting it down, walking away and not worrying about my grandson picking it up and hurting it in anyway. He did spill water on one of my books awhile ago, we dried it out so I could finish.  Could you imagine my reaction if it had been a Kindle or a Nook?   I think I am going to be a die hard on this issue for a long time.  I love to share my books with others, signed copies are treasured gifts, and sharing a children's book with my grandson brings me such joy.  I just can't imagine children's books being on an E-reader.  The bright faces of children entranced by the pictures and turning the pages back and forth and back again.

There may come a day when I will have to break down and purchase one because publishers decide to stop printing the books I love to read.  I know of one publisher who has already decided to go totally to e-books and that is so sad.  There are so many people out there who love to read that are not computer savvy and wouldn't understand how an e-reader works. There are also many who can not afford the luxury right now.

Let me know what you think.  This Enquiring Mind Wants To Know!

1. How many hours per day do you spend at your computer? 3-4

2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? mint chocolate chip

3. Do you own an E-Reader, Kindle, Nook, etc? If yes, which one and how do you like it. Please give us the Pros and Cons. Not yet! I played with a Kindle but wasn't that impressed. I'm an old fashioned reader and I really like books! That being said, I think I'd like a Kindle for travel and working out.
