COZY WEDNESDAY - GIVEAWAY

Isn't this the perfect picture of a cozy reading niche, the roaring fire, a comfy couch, moonlight shining through the window.  The only thing missing is the perfect lighting.  We know it's there just out of the picture frame.

My favorite spot to "Escape With A Good Book" during the Fall and Winter would look much like this picture, but there would be two dogs and a cat vying to get as close to me as possible, instead of the one lying nicely on the floor, and we have an enclosed gas fireplace.

In the Spring and Summer my cozy niche is on my porch swing, enjoying a cool beverage, a slight breeze, sunshine, hopefully no bugs and a good book.

All year round you will always find me sitting on my bed reading late into the night.  Many bloggers read several books a week.  My goal is usually 4 books pure week and late a night when the whole house is quiet and there are no distractions is when most of my reading goals are reached.

Each of us has our own cozy niche or reading rituals. This week I am asking you to share yours with us. Use the comment section below to tell us where you go to "Escape With A Good Book". How many books do you read per week and where do you do most of your reading? Be sure to leave your email address at the bottom of your post because on Wednesday, March 23, I will announce the winner of a very special prize.

This contest is for residents of the US and Canada only. You do not need to be a follower of Dollycas's Thoughts to enter but hope you will consider becoming one. The prize will be a $50 Gift Certificate to CSN's variety of online stores.  There may be international shipping fees in the case of Canadian orders that the Gift Certificate cannot cover.

Each post will be assigned a number in order of the comments are received  and I will use Random.org to choose a winner.

I can't wait to read all your comments/stories!!!

I always read in the same spot: on the corner of the couch under my reading light. The living room gets such poor lighting that I have a special lamp with bendable fixtures so I can get better light. So I turn on my lamp, set up my three back pillows, get under a blanket and crack open a book. I try to read two to three books a week, but lately I have been in kind of a reading funk and it has been taking me about a week just to get through one book. I sure hope it turns around soon though because my TBR pile is getting pretty high!

Thank you for the great giveaway :)

It depends on how busy my week is, but I average 2-3 books a week. I read mainly in bed or in the tub :) My eyesight is impaired right now and I really need better lighting or I'll have to cut back on my reading (which will make me VERY unhappy as it's one of the great joys in my life)

Usually, I read in a corner on the couch or curled up in bed. But my favorite is when I get to drive out to our local wildlife refuge, find a quiet place and sit in a folding chair with my book. It so peaceful listening to the sounds around me.

I have a beautiful chair in the corner of my bedroom that is my designated reading spot, but I don't get to sit there very much (one day). I make sure I always have a book with me in case I have to wait at a doctor's office, or at a child's activity - it makes me a much more patient person

I usually read one book per week from the corner of my couch in the living room. I also read a bit in bed, but it doesn't last long because I fall asleep!

I curl up with a cup of tea in my favorite chair and read as long as I can (until something interrupts me). I could do this all day.

I love snuggling up with a good book, iced tea and chocolate to read after the kids are asleep. Of course, as they get older I find myself reading later and later into the night...

Most of my reading is done on my recliner sofa with a few dogs on me and a throw to keep the dogs happy.

I like the read in the corner of the couch covered with a cozy blanket :)

How much I read depends on my week and the book..sometimes I can read 2 or 3 in a week, other times just one.

My most favorite spot to read in on the corner of the couch, curled up with a light blanket, with my little westie next to me. I love reading after everyone has gone to bed and the house is quiet. I normally will read at least 2 books a week.
And I was so surprised to find your blog. I have read all of Lorna Barrett's books and ooking forward to her new one. I just started reading her new one, by another name, " A Crafty Killing". Then I just finished Elaine Viets, Mystery Shopper series an loved them. I do have all of the Dead-end Job Mystery. Wow, I was so excited to find someone that read the same mystery books that my daughter and I read. Thanks for the contest, also.

I tried posting but I think what I said is somewhere out in cyber space! So trying again!

I ususally read two to three a week but only one at week when it is a chunkster.

My favorite place to read it on the couch with a lamp and a mug of herbal tea to my left and our
big window to the back yard to the right. Like looking up and seeing cardinals, blue jays and cedar waxwings out the window. In the summer, the patio is best.

I generally read three to four books a week with one being an audio or Audible. My most cozy spot is my bed. I rarely sit in a cozy chair to read. I basically read or listen everywhere else though. I listen to audio cds in the car and I listen to the Kindle or Audible while I do my make-up or fold laundry, other chores or walking or on the treadmill and when I ready to sleep. I read the Kindle whenever I am waiting - at doctor offices, in court etc.
I read print books in bed in the morning and at night before I go to bed. I even read on the restroom "throne" now and then. In the spring and summer I might read outside a little.
So if I am not one the computer or eating or talking to my DH (or some else) chances are I'm reading. :-)

I have a few favorite spots to read. My front porch is my favorite place to read. I have a great really old, big porch swing where I can cozy up and read a great book, while listening the birds and feeling the breeze. I've even been known to read out there covered up in a blanket in early spring and late fall. But, then comes the winter and I have to find a different spot. My bedroom is basically my haven of peace LOL... I have two daughters, one in middle school and one almost in middle school... we have lots of chaos at our house, sooooo I head to my room to read and relax...

My favorite place to read at home is lying in bed with my dogs and cat curled up beside me. This year I can't wait for spring as I just moved into my own place and plan on redoing my back yard. Once that is done, my new favorite place may be my deck out back surrounded by flowers, squirrels, birds and butterflies!

I try to read a book every three days, but lately I have been in a rut with my book choices. Just started a great one though!

I love to read in a very old chair and a half here in my den. It's where I work on my laptop too. I have ordered a new chair and am anxiously awaiting its arrival.
And my number of books read varies greatly by the season and what else is going on!

In the summer I love to read on my back porch. I'm starting to look forward to that now. The rest of the year I curl up on the couch usually with a kitty on my lap. I also love to read in bed at night before I go to sleep.

I have a small apartment, so right now my cozy reading spot is on the couch under a throw. The problem is that it's a short couch, so I can't really stretch out the way I'd like (plus it leaves no room for anyone else to sit). My plan is to get a nice, cushy chair or recliner to claim as my very own reading nook! Thanks for the giveaway!
