Random Thoughts - Is it Hot Enough For You?

Thankfully we have central air and I have stayed in the house with my computer, books and television. Wisconsin is set to break another heat record today. (Wednesday as I type this) - The record high for 7/20 is 97 degrees (set in both 1901 and 1930). Forecast high today: 99.
***EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING***
- Several cooling centers have opened in southern Wisconsin.

How are you staying cool?
Please let me know how you are doing and share you ideas!!
I love hearing from you!!!

It is too hot, but then I am in Texas. In the 100's for the last two weeks and this week. But until this week, we have been limiting how long to keep it on. One day, I was going to nuke a sweet potato and found that it had already been cooked in the pantry!!! Also I had a glass mug that was room temeperature in the kitchen and I poured some ice water in it and it cracked apart completely.

How are we trying to stay cool? Only going out for the mail, groceries and the doctor. Drinking cold iced drinks all day long. One night it was so got that got a cold pack out of freezer and laid it on my head to cool off. Need more ideas!

Oh my gosh Carol, cooked in the pantry, broken glass. My grandson wants to play outside but it is just too hot for grandma to sit out there. His other set of grandparents just picked up to give us a break and they will bring him back tomorrow night or Saturday and they get around better than I do. They always just seem to know when we need a break!!

I have been sitting in front of fans, reading and taking cool showers to beat the heat. I have a kiddie pool in the backyard for the dogs. No air conditioning here. We usually don't need it close to the lake. That blizzard is looking pretty refreshing now!

Beth,
I am sorry you have to suffer in this heat. I always used to say I loved summer because no matter how hot you could get cool, hated winter but the cold would get in your bones and hold on tight and it was impossible to get warm, but a little winter this week wouldn't have bothered me at all!!!
