In The Fullness of Time by Vincent Nicolosi

Fonthill Press LLC
Release Date March 9, 2010

This is a fiction novel where the author takes us through the life of Tristan Tecumseh Hamilton.  The story starts on November 25, 1963 when President John F. Kennedy was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.  It is told in a reflection  format as Mr. Hamilton remembers his life which included his neighbor and friend President Warren G. Harding, who had died 40 years earlier.

Throughout the book  rumors are addressed about regarding Harding's  heritage,  corruption while he was in the White House, his mistresses and even speculation that his wife had poisoned the President causing his death.  There is also much of Hamilton's own life but everything was tied to his relationship with the deceased president.

When I was received an invitation to review this book I was really looking forward to reading it and passing it on to my husband who is quite a history buff.  I must say I truly enjoyed about the first 300 pages of the 510 page book. It made me want to do further research into the life of President Harding.  But it seemed after that until the last chapter that each page just rehashed something already talked about previously with may one more small detail added.  The author was continually using phases like, "I may have mentioned before"  or  "I somewhat lied earlier" and then went on to tell what really happened, which was what he had already said with a minor change.  I think if a really good editor with a heavy red pen had gone through this story it would have been an amazing story told in about 350 pages.  I really wanted to like this book but by the time I hit about page 400+ I was just plain frustrated.

I went to Amaxon.com today to download the picture used in this post and there are 6 raving reviews about this book, calling it "Mesmerizing and Marvelous" and "Captivating" and yes I felt that way at the beginning but definitely not at the end.  I am completely unsure how to use my rating system to rate this book.  I liked the beginning and the last chapter and hated the other pages.  I can't say I recommend anyone buy this book, maybe check it out from the library and see what you think.  To me In The Fullness Of Time wasted my time for about 200 pages.
