ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW - Week 15

No, I am not a new Tabloid Reporter, but it is a feature so
that we can all get to know each other better.

This feature will be open from Thursday at 12:01 A.M. and close on Monday at 11:59 P.M. to allow those that want to participate over the weekend the opportunity to do so when they have more time.  So you may want to check back on Tuesday or check the previous week's link on Thursday to view everyone's answers.

Links to all previous weeks at the bottom of the post for those who missed a week or two and want to catch up on everyone's answers.  To do that please link up using the actual post link  instead of the link to your entire blog so people can find your "Enquiring" posts easier.

If you are just joining this feature
WELCOME!!!!!
We all become friends/followers but most of us will never meet in person, this feature is to help us all get to know each other better.

Each Thursday I will post 3 questions for you to answer that you can copy and post on your blog with your answers.

You don’t have to be a blogger to participate either. I will be using a Linky List for the blogs to use to participate and follow each other around to get to know each other, but if you are not a blogger just answer the questions in the comment section following the post on your favorite blog. Please feel free to click on the links and visit other blogs too.

This way we not only get to know other bloggers,
we get to know our followers too.
I am really excited about this meme
and hope many more people will join the fun!!!!!

Are you interested?
WEEK 15 QUESTIONS
1. Do you have an artificial or real Christmas tree?
2. Do you feel you decorate just enough, over the top, or not enough?
3. Do you have a favorite Christmas Cookie, if you have a recipe, please share?

I know all these questions are Christmas related and don't want to offend anyone, if you don't celebrate Christmas, please tell us about your holiday or family traditions.  I always like to learn new things.

Now be sure to copy and paste the information and your answers into your blog, then come back to link up, so we can come to your blog and read your answers.

I hope you will come back to this meme every week and tell your friends so we can all get to know each other better and get the answers to all the questions
Enquiring Minds Want To Know!!

MY ANSWERS:
1. Do you have an artificial or real Christmas tree?
Artificial, in fact this year we are putting up more than one.
2. Do you feel you decorate just enough, over the top, or not enough?
We used to go way over the top, then last year (see post below) it was definitely not enough.  I think this year it will be just right. I love snowmen and our house is full of them.

3. Do you have a favorite Christmas Cookie, if you have a recipe, please share?
 Chocolate Mint Crinkle Cookies

Years ago Hershey or Nestle made Mint Chocolate Chips that were part of my original recipe.  Since they are no longer sold I add just a little mint flavoring into the dough and they are still yummy.

Skill Level:
Intermediate
Prep Time:
30 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa or HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Cocoa
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Combine granulated sugar and oil in large bowl; add cocoa, beating until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to cocoa mixture, beating well.
  2. Cover; refrigerate until dough is firm enough to handle, at least 6 hours.
  3. Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in powdered sugar to coat. Place about 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched lightly and tops are crackled. Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. About 4 dozen cookies.

Hi There!
Thanks again for hosting this meme! I so enjoy learning about my fellow bloggers! The dug tree will work for you, you just have to plant it before it comes out of dormancy and in your neck of the woods that would probably be the beginning of May - just don't keep it in the house more than about 2 weeks.

I will leave out the mint but the rest of the recipe yum!
Sadly my allergies negate a real tree this year, my husband, mother and myself have all been sinus allergy sick for 3 months and does not look like it will go away soon...

Decorating is probably something I need to get around to, really not much into it even if we had a tree would just hang Homemade Christmas Stockings on the fireplace pretty much.. (my 2 cats do not allow decorations anymore, they tear them up or worse yet eat them and get sick)

My favorite cookie recipe is to go buy premade dough for chocolate chip and bake them, gotten lazy in my old age... Plus nobody in the house really has a "sweet" tooth anymore...

(i sound like Scrooge darn it!)

Artifical tree-we used to get real ones because of the wonderful smell but then I started feeling sorry for the tree.

I used to overdecorate now I underdecorate. I don't have as much energy anymore.

Love your copokie recipe.
